Verbal contracts

A contract is an agreement between parties in which one party agrees to perform a service or provide goods in exchange for money or other goods or services.

A verbal contract is an agreement between parties without a writing and disputes arise when one party fails to perform, which is called a breach of the contract. Verbal contracts are enforceable but only if certain conditions are present. A good example of an enforceable verbal contract is when one party fully performed. The performing party can bring a lawsuit against the non-performing party under breach of contract.

Enforcement of a contract dispute can be difficult if the breaching party has no funds or assets, and funds and assets can be transferred or depleted during the lawsuit to avoid enforcement of a judgment. Therefore, gathering all the details and asking for legal advice quickly can make all the difference. Due to the high risk involved, only some Breach of contract lawsuits fall under “you only pay if we win” and for the rest of the cases we charge hourly for representation billed monthly.
